Family Studio Photography at Rose Mills, Ilminster - Complete Digital Package

Up to one and half hours in the studio from £280* - All the edited digital images from the session (approx 50+)

Capture joyful family moments in a relaxed, creative environment.

My family sessions take place at the Rose Mills Arts and Crafts Centre, a vibrant, characterful venue that’s also used for gigs and art workshops. The space is large and open, perfect for small or large family groups, and has a fun, relaxed atmosphere that helps sessions feel natural and full of life.

As it’s a working arts venue, be prepared for a rustic charm rather than a polished studio feel. The room can be cool in winter, and we ask that children are supervised at all times. Most families love the informal, creative vibe - it really helps to capture real, joyful moments together!

I will prepare either a white or grey backdrop, studio lights and neutral toned chairs and props, ready for when you arrive.

There’s also a café upstairs if you’d like to grab a coffee or make more of an occasion of your visit - some families like to book a meal to make it more of an occasion.

Gift Certificates are available.

*Price includes hire of studio space at Rose Mills Arts and Craft, Ilminster. Prices during Christmas and holidays may vary, please get in touch for more details.

  • I recommend wearing comfortable clothing that reflects your family's style and personality. I also send a tip sheet to get you thinking about what to wear for your photo shoot beforehand. Feel free to bring any props or accessories that you'd like to incorporate into the photos. Most importantly, relax and have fun during the session – my goal is to capture genuine moments and connections that you'll treasure forever.

  • An90 minute shoot is usually more than enough time for a small family. I'll work with you on the day and take my cues if you need to wrap up by a certain time, or if it takes a bit longer to get into the shoot, I'll do my best to accommodate you. I do ask for you to arrive on time so we can make the most of the session

  • Please try not to worry about this, I’ve not had to throw anyone out ofAthe studio yet! As a mum of twin boys, I know exactly how you feel about this. But as a family photographer, please believe me when I say - 'Let kids be kids!' Family photo shoots with young children are more like playdates and should be fun and relaxed. If your children pick up on your worries, they will often push you harder. All children are cheeky and mischieveous sometimes, and actually these moments can make fun photographs too. I've never had a session when children don't enjoy themselves, even if they have started off quite shy. I spend a little time getting to know them, I play games and ask them to show me what they like to do encouraging them to have fun showing me while I take pictures. If you're interested, check out my BLOG on tips and how not to worry!

  • Well, you wont be the first! It's mostly mums that book shoots with me, but dad's have a special relation with their children too and they know it. I've not met a dad yet that wants to miss out! If Dad's busy though and needs to get back to work, or join us later in the shoot, it really isn't a problem. I'll accommodate dad's so they feel happy to join in for as long as they can make it!

  • If you are unable to make your shoot I will do my best to offer you a second date, however this is at my discreation and subject to availability. Full terms and conditions, including my cancellation policy can be found here

  • Yes - although these are often the first slots to get booked. I also offer after school slots and at busy times keep the studio open until 8pm to fit around your bust schedule!

  • These days we have become more mindful of passing on coughs, colds and other infections. If you or your children are unwell, please get in touch to discuss if it is right to postpone your session until you feel better. The bottom line is, no-one photographs well when they are under the weather, and I am keep to keep the studio free as I often have tiny newborns clients.
